Welcome to spin training/endorsement!

I am often referred to as “The Spin Doctor”

What I do is not dangerous or reckless…but it IS intense!

I did my first spin in 1971 before I soloed on my 16th birthday. I’ve done over 3100 spins (individual spins, not turns) so far (and counting weekly!). I do spin training for Lift Academy, Vincennes University, Jeff Air, Jet Access and others.

A spin endorsement is required by CFR 14 61.183 1 (1,2) for all initial CFI candidates. We’ve done literally hundreds of them!

All spin training is done out of i80 (Noblesville Airport) unless otherwise coordinated. Cost is a flat fee of $350, payable in advance. It includes a one hour briefing and the spin syllabus below. If the student discontinues because of illness or other reason, they will be charged for any additional flight time for a subsequent flight time over the 1.0 allotted time at $250/hr.

I recommend you view the power point to the right before coming. We will go thru this in your ground lesson.

What others say about my spin training:

His spin training is packed with great information and you’ll leave a better, safer pilot! Diego Marquez

I had an amazing experience with Stick and Rudder! Robert took the time to thoroughly reinforce my understanding of spin recovery, breaking everything down in a way that made it easy to master. I gained eye-opening insights, but more importantly, a huge boost in confidence. The personalized attention and passion Robert brings to his work is unmatched. I’m incredibly grateful for the knowledge Robert shared, and I’m excited to continue growing with the skills I’ve learned. Highly recommend Stick and Rudder to anyone looking to improve and expand their aviation knowledge! Miles Snowdon

Spin training with Robert was the most insightful hour of flight training I was able to experience. He will always push you to be a better pilot every day. Walker Massey

Phenomenal training experience. In my initial spin trying during an accelerated CFI course, I feel I was wholly unprepared for spins and just pushed through training as quickly as possible. The spin training Robert provided was invaluable and will help me moving forward. Duad Mohamed

I had been a CFI for several years when I flew with Robert for a Spin Training refresher course. I learned so much and walked away from the training feeling great. I’d recommend spin training with Robert to anyone fortunate enough to get the chance! Keith Stover

The spin training I received with Mr. Haynes was the most thorough training I’ve received over spin & upset recovery in my career so far. There’s a lot of things you’ll learn, and dare I say fun to be had? If you want to feel more confident in your own abilities as a pilot, then look no further. Dane Johnson

Great experience. Every pilot should take this spin training. The cross control stall is an eye opener. Rick Hixson

Robert is a bank of information. He is an amazing pilot and an even better instructor. I have completed my CFI preparation and Spin training with Robert, as well as tailwheel training! Ean Schrecengost

Robert is a fantastic instructor. I did my spin training, CFI oral and flight prep with him. He was a huge factor in my success passing my initial CFI. I learned so much from flying with Robert. Adam Baldwin
